ok, I know I live in northern Indiana, and I should be used to the snow, having spent 9 years in Maryland and 3 in northern Japan, but I’m pretty sure snow days were more fun and way cooler as a kid than as an adult.  First of all, I don’t enjoy being cold. I can only layer so much before I’m uncomfortable. not to mention how my driving abilities in the snow are not so amazing (haven’t had a slide-off yet this season).

But here we are housebound on New Years because 10 inches of snow dumped itself around us since 6 pm last night, and we’re only getting more today and tonight. I have 3 consulations to snow days though.

  1. I get to wear comfies all day. Oh how I love warm pajamas!
  2. I actually take time to make homecooked meals. Today, we had shepherd’s pie. Comfort food is great on snow days.
  3. torturing the Berkeley.  We bundle him up in his dog gear and laugh at him as he makes his way outside trudging through snow taller than he is. It’s always a great time watching him try to find the exact right spot to do his business. and with that, here are some Berkeley pics from this afternoon.
