Blue Star Archives

It’s been awhile

So, there has been some considerable time that has passed since my last post. Maybe the glowing green walls were not as inspiring as I thought they would be.

Some important events since the last post include a brief blurb in the Elkhart Truth on May 30, 2005 about our new location and new name;

another shopping trip to IKEA for additional office furnishings;

and most notibly the hire of Luke Morningstar (Jon’s younger brother) on June 1st.

With several years of programming experience and technical expertise, Luke will serve in many capacities with Blue Star. His primary role will be as the Lead Systems Developer, with a secondary role as an additional On-Site Technician. And since he also shares the back workroom with Nate, Luke will also provide assistance as a Help Desk Technician when his knowledge is required.

We are thrilled to have Luke working alongside us and we look forward to the many opportunities he will have to grow, develop and build in all the opportunities he will surely have as a Blue Star employee.

The Office

It’s official. We cast ourselves out into the Goshen business community. On Thursday, April 28, 2005, we hosted our very first Open House for our clients and friends at our new office location in Waterford Mills Plaza. We wanted to thank our current clients for their ongoing relationship with us, and we wanted the rest of Goshen to know that we exist. So through our association with the Goshen Chamber of Commerce, we were able to have a formal ribbon cutting ceremony following our Open House.

We were so busy hosting our clients, we failed to take pictures on this momentous day. However, here are some pics to help you step into our working environment.

So what do you think our office environment?

By the way, we know — it’s GREEN!

We decided to go with office decor that you wouldn’t normally find in Goshen – bold, bright colors mixed with clean, simple furnishings. Most of the accessories and furniture pieces are from IKEA. (Jon & Jamesie’s desks are on-loan from their home, and the Workroom desk is custom-made.)

That’s about it for now. Jon has additional postings regarding the office and all things Blue Star.
